Old Town Recreation Ground offers a variety of facilities including a large sports field primarily used for football, and stoolball, with adjacent tennis courts, a basketball hoop, a children’s playground, a pavilion for use during organised sports fixtures and space for informal recreation. During 2009 the tennis courts were refurbished and in 2010, following consultation with the surrounding community, the playground was refurbished to a high standard. Regular junior and senior league football fixtures are held and the site is often playable when others around town are waterlogged. Occasional community events take place on the field including an annual community funday.
